Inez Cyrilla Friedman-Lipetz

We share the news of the passing of Inez Friedman-Lipetz, sister to Merwyn Friedman (Janet), mother to Trina Weingarten (Ken) and Jed Fishback (Breena), stepmother to Andrew Lipetz and David Lipetz (Kim), and grandmother “Nana” to Sofia and Elena Weingarten, Jillian and Jordan Fishback, Miranda and Jordan Lipetz, Jeremy, Eli and Sam Lipetz. Inez was predeceased by her husband of 32 years, Dr. Jacques Lipetz.

Inez died on Friday September 13th at the age of 86.

Inez was a lifelong Philadelphia resident. She was born on May 24, 1938 and grew up in the Mayfair neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia, graduating as Valedictorian from Lincoln High School in 1956. She earned a full scholarship to University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1960. She completed her Masters at Columbia University in 1966.

Inez had a long career as a children’s Speech Pathologist, maintaining an active license in Pennsylvania at the time of her death. Through her dedication to her work, she touched the lives of countless children.

Inez was active for many years at Ohev Shalom Synagogue in Bucks County, PA, where she volunteered for many committees, most notably running the adult education program for many years. She was a Bnai Brith co-president of her local chapter. She volunteered with the developmentally disabled community.

Inez loved spending time with her family, including emailing her grandchildren. She frequented Philadelphia art museums, theater, orchestra and the zoo. Inez enjoyed extensive travel and was an avid collector.

Relatives and friends are invited to Graveside services Wednesday 1 PM precisely at King David Memorial Park (Sec. M), 3594 Bristol Rd., Bensalem, PA 19020.
