
MARGOLIS IAN STEPHEN 79, a life-long resident of Philadelphia, passed away on Jan. 27, 2021. Steve was the son of Eleanor and Sydney Margolis. He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen; Karen's children, Rebecca Vaughn (Aurora) Erica Perlow (Chris) and Adam Perlow; his cousins Joan Goldstein (William), Dayle Steinberg (Kenneth Matthieu) and Jay Steinberg (Teri) and the Goldstein children, Rachel Goldstein (Rick Feinleib), Michael Goldstein and Tony Goldstein (Melanie). Also beloved son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. Having Cerebral Palsy from infancy, Steve was a life-long advocate for persons with disabilities. After graduating from Temple University, he established a distinguished career with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as a Discrimination Complaint Investigator and travelled throughout the country to help disabled persons pursue their claims. He was honored by the Mayor's Commission on People with Disabilities with its Annual Access Achievement Award. His life was an example of how character and determination can enable people to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. No services will be held due to COVID-19.
