HUGH CHAIRNOFF on July 27,, 2026. Beloved husband of Hedda (nee Cohen); Loving father of Deborah Sherman (Walter), Alicia Bush (Andrew), and the late Jeffrey Chairnoff; Dear father-in-law of Helaine Chairnoff; Devoted grandfather of Sarah (Guiseppe), Benjamin, Rachel, Jacob, Brendan, and Devin.

Hugh was an alumnus of Drexel University, Florida State University, and Michigan State University, reflecting his lifelong commitment to learning and personal growth.

Hugh’s professional life was marked by a long and accomplished career in banking, where he made significant contributions during his years with the Federal Reseve Bank of Philadelphia and the National Westminster Bank in New York. After retiring, Hugh co-founded Seven Oaks Capital with a longtime friend, continuing to share his expertise and entrepreneurial spirit.

Hugh had a profound commitment to Drexel University and played a vital role in turning the vision of a Drexel Hillel building into a reality through his dedication, passion, and hard work.

Hugh loved spending summers at the beach and treasured the time he spent with his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services, Friday, 11:30 AM precisely at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Suburban North Chapel, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA. Interment Montefiore Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the home of Alicia and Andrew Bush, Friday following interment, Saturday 6-8 PM and Sunday 6 – 8 PM.
