Hilda Wertheimer (nee Chalfin), beloved matriarch of the Wertheimer family, passed away peacefully in the early morning of October 26th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.
Hilda was the cherished wife of the late Nathan Wertheimer. Together, they created a warm and loving home for their children, her son Gary Wertheimer; who preceded her in death, her son Brad (Regina) Wertheimer, and daughter Marci (Robert) Gittis, who carry forward her spirit and values.
Hilda’s family was her greatest joy, and she took immense pride in her five grandchildren: Rachel (Christian) Weiss, Jordan (Rachel) Wertheimer, Lauren (Patrick) Lesbirel, Kara (Sean) Young, and Alek Gittis. Her heart swelled with happiness as she welcomed her great-grandchildren: Christian, Hailey, Viktoria, Bridget, Connor, and Jack, who brought her endless joy.
Hilda was known for her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support. She created lasting memories through family gatherings and shared traditions that will be cherished by her loved ones for generations to come.
Hilda and Nathan were actively involved in their synagogue, where they fostered a sense of community and made significant contributions to various charitable organizations. Their dedication to helping others exemplified their values and left a lasting impact on those around them.
Relatives and friends are invited to graveside services on Tuesday October 29th, 2024, Noon precisely at Montefiore Cemetery (Sec. 14).
