DR. HERMAN R., 89, Dec. 22, 2013, a decorated WW II veteran. For his service Dr. Raines was awarded the American Campaign Medal, the European, North African and Middle Eastern Medals with three battle stars, and the Bronze Star medal. After the war, Dr. Raines graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1949. He remained in active practice until 2011.
He is survived by Beatrice his wife of 67 years, sons Dr. Jonathan Raines (Sharon Kozden) and Andrew Raines Esq. (Robert Pardo), grandson Zachary, many beloved nephews and nieces, friends and former patients.
Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services Tuesday 12:30 P.M. at the Mt. Sharon Cemetery Chapel, Springfield, PA. Shiva will be observed on Tuesday at the Green Hill Apts., East Bldg. TV Room, 1001 City Avenue, Wynnewood, PA. Shiva will continue Wednesday and Thursday at his late residence. Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
