KAHAN
HENRIETTA, 89, formerly of Horsham PA and Hudson FL, died Friday, January 22, 2016. In addition to being a devoted wife and loving mother, she taught nursery school and proof-read patent applications. She was passionate about writing and wrote an unpublished humorous book about her life as a veterinarian's wife. She also wrote reviews of cultural events for a Tampa FL news-paper. She enjoyed politics and worked on several political campaigns throughout her life. She visited Israel early in her life, spent time with her beloved grandfather and attended the first grade there. As a civilian employee of the Army she was stationed in both Okinawa and Korea during the war. As director of social activities, she supported the troops. She held leadership positions in the League of Women Voters and the Girl Scouts. She was devoted to her family and just spending time with them brought her joy.
She was the wife of the late Dr. I. Howard Kahan. She is survived by 2 daughters, Carol Kennedy (the late Thomas) of New York NY, and Michelle Kahan (her beloved son-in-law Anthony) of York PA; a son, Dennis (Marian) of Lansdale PA; 4 grandchildren, Paul, Andrew, Peter and Nicole, and 2 great-grandchildren.
