Harriet Seder

Harriet Celia Seder (nee Tankel), passed away on October 19, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was 79. She is survived by husband Mitchell Seder, of Philadelphia; children Andrew Seder and wife Marissa, of Gouldsboro, PA and Jennifer Mirando and husband Angelo, of Hamilton Square, NJ. She is also survived by her darling grandchildren, Adam, Makenna and Maxwell Seder and Daniel and Juliana Mirando. 

Harriet was born on April 24, 1944, daughter of Abram and Betty Tankel. Harriet was a lifelong Philadelphia resident. 

She and Mitch celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in September. Harriet graduated from Northeast High School before receiving her Associates Degree in Bookkeeping from Philadelphia College of Textiles. She then worked for several local businesses before finally retiring from Independence Blue Cross after nearly 20 years. 

Harriet enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She enjoyed reading, watching jeopardy,  following Philadelphia sports teams and her dearly departed dogs. She could always be found with a pretzel in her hand or mouth. She enjoyed traveling the country with Mitch and vacationing with friends and family. 

Harriet was always involved in her community and her children’s lives, including serving as Cub Scout Den Leader, PTA President, a Republican Committeewoman and an elections poll worker. 

Relatives and friends are invited to funeral services Wednesday, October 25th at 1:00 pm precisely at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Raphael Sacks Suburban North, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA. Interment following at King David Memorial Park, 3594 Bristol Road, Bensalem, PA. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Dementia Society of America.
