Harriet LAM (nee Bell) Age 97 of Dresher, PA, formerly of Merion Station, passed away on January 12 surrounded by family. Daughter of the late Anne and Milton Bell she was predeceased by husband James Alfred and brother Richard Bell. Devoted mother of Ellen Sussmann (Barry) and Jim Lam and the adored grandmother of Josie Marley (Josh), Jeff (Laura), Matt Lam (Danielle) and Mike Lam. She is also survived by six great grandchildren. 

Harriet was born in Germantown. Her father was a doctor at Einstein Hospital. She graduated from Temple University and taught business courses at Dobbins Technical High School for 31 years. She led a full life from her condo at Latch's Lane in Merion Station where she was an active member of Main Line Reform Temple.

Harriet served on the board of the Merion Civic Association and was a weekly volunteer for over 25 years at Bryn Mawr Hospital. Mom always made people feel special. She was kind and thoughtful, a good listener and a loyal friend. Time with family and friends was cherished. She loved to cook and entertain, always offering an invitation for a meal. The legacy Harriet leaves us will last forever in our memories and in our hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to Graveside services Friday, 12 noon Precisely at Montefiore Cemetery (sec. 22) Jenkintown, PA. Shiva will be observed at her daughter's residence. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
