Glenn R. Mattes

   Glenn R. Mattes passed away August 18, 2024, surrounded by family. Devoted and cherished husband of Mary DeFrancisco and late wife, Shelley (nee Sperling). Beloved father of Craig (Megan), Ryan, and Stephen Mattes. Dedicated grandfather to Leo and Eva. Devoted stepfather to Gabriel, Maria, Enrico, and David. Favorite step-grandfather to Sarah, Zachary, Nicoletta, James, Vincenzo, Louis, Sophie, Rosalie, Henry, and Claire.

    Glenn received a Bachelor of Science degree from the City University of New York and was an accomplished leader in pharmaceutical businesses. He had more than 30 years of business leadership, global therapeutics development expertise, and executive management experience. As a Chief Executive Officer, he exhibited leadership facilitating companies in business development, marketing, investor relations, commercialization alliances and channels, and management support. Glenn was a former CEO of Tibotec Therapeutics and Rhone-Poulenc Rorer/Canada, in addition to other senior C-suite positions at Centocor and Johnson & Johnson, where he helped to revolutionize the treatment of HIV. Glenn was appointed to the President’s Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS by President George W. Bush and the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services.

    Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services Thursday, August 22, 7:30 PM, Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Suburban North, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton PA 18966. Receiving will begin at 6:00 PM. Interment is private. Shiva will be observed at the late residence Saturday and Sunday 4:00-7:00 PM.
