In loving memory of Gilbert Sumsky, a true hero who selflessly dedicated his life to serving others. At the age of 84, Gil peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, altruism, and bravery. Gil served his country with honor and distinction as an Air Force reservist who served in operation Desert Storm and an active duty member of the U.S. Army. He also spent years as a Pennsylvania volunteer firefighter for Horsham, and as a lifetime member of Northampton Township Fire Department in Bucks County. A Mason and a Shriner, Gilbert also dedicated over 20 years to the Newtown Ambulance Squad as an EMT. Gilbert is survived by his loving wife Rita, son Craig, brother Herbert, niece Sharon, and nephew Michael as well as many other extended family members and friends. He was a loving and devoted husband of 60 years and a proud father and best friend to his son. Gil’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the enduring impact he made on his community. He will be remembered for his strength of character, his unyielding sense of duty, and his compassionate heart that knew no bounds.
