

Gertrude Lederer Singer, 95, of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on October 17, surrounded by her loving family. She is reunited with her late husband, Alexander Singer. She will be missed by her children, Diane and Gary McKeen; and Dr. Raymond and Bonnie Singer. Her memory will be a blessing to her grandchildren �Alex McKeen; and Lana and Julia Singer. Mrs. Singer attended Hunter College in New York and served honorably as a Navy Nurse during World War II. After the War, she pursued a business degree and did not retire until the age of 86 after a successful career in real estate and as the owner of My Place Tavern in Philadelphia. She earned the title of Silver Life Master in Bridge and was regarded as one of the top Bridge players in the Philadelphia region. She was a Life Member of Hadassah, as well a devoted member of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and Congregation Keneseth Israel of Elkins Park. Funeral services will be held at the Roosevelt Memorial Park Mausoleum, 2701 Old Lincoln Highway, Trevose, PA, on Sunday, October 21 at 1 PM. A celebration luncheon will immediately follow the service for both family and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Congregation Keneseth Israel of Elkins Park or to a charity of choice.
