GERALD KAUFMAN, 92, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, at Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia. .Born June 14, 1932 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and educated at Yale University and Columbia Law School, Gerry was a lifelong environmental and social activist who served as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, executive director of Awbury Arboretum in Philadelphia, and throughout his life as a devoted champion of liberal causes. Survived by his wife, Shelly Yanoff, children, Ann and Jim, stepchildren, Steven, David and Joanne, Gabriella, Till, Dena and Jim, grandchildren, Zoe, Julia, Josh, Jane, Jillian, Lou, Miles and Molly, Gerry was much loved and will be missed. Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services, Friday, 1 PM precisely at Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Funeral Directors Inc, 6410 N. Broad Street, Phila., PA.
