Dr. Gary L. Kaufmann

Dr. Gary L. Kaufmann, 72, of Philadelphia, passed away on July 13, 2023. He was born in Philadelphia and was a lifelong resident of the area. For the last 40 years, he has lived in Bucks County.

Dr. Kaufmann was a dedicated physician who loved caring for his patients over his decades-long career in medicine. Outside of work, he was an avid fan of the Grateful Dead and attended over 100 of their shows. He also loved rooting for Philadelphia sports teams, including the Eagles, Phillies, and 76ers.

Dr. Kaufmann is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Judith Brownstein Kaufmann; his children, Matthew Kaufmann and Laura Kaufmann Belkhayat; and his three cherished grandchildren, Sebastien ("Bash"), Rania, and Emmy. He especially enjoyed being called "Goog" by his adoring grandkids.

In his later years, Dr. Kaufmann traveled extensively with his wife Judith, cruising around Europe and also frequently visiting his favorite destination - Wailea, Maui.

He had a talent for warm, intelligent conversation that endeared him to all who knew him.

Dr. Kaufmann will be deeply missed by his family, friends, patients, and all whose lives he touched. His passion for life and caring spirit left an indelible mark on the Philadelphia community. A memorial service will be held at a later date to honor his memory.
