FRED MALKIN

MALKIN FRED W. Age 97.5 years old, of Cheltenham and Rydal Park, departed this world on February 5, 2021 from complications of Covid-19. Loving son of the late Anna (nee Kessler) and Benjamin. Adoring husband for 73 years to the late Marcia Malkin, his childhood sweetheart, who predeceased him in 2018. Devoted father to Kenneth (Barbara), Myrna, and Harris (Dana). Grandfather to Amy (Eric Adams), Jennifer Solano (Rod), Christina Fleckenstein, and Scott Sangrey (Heather). Great Grandfather to Jake, Justin, Skylar, Victoria, and Alex. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Fred was a WWII Veteran, having served in the US Army Air Corps in Okinawa as a pilot specializing in photo recon. He graduated from U of P Wharton School of Business with a B.S. in Economics. For most of his adult life he worked as an executive in the printing/publishing field. Fred was an avid and accomplished golfer who was a member of Ashbourne Country Club and later Melrose Country Club. For many years he was on the camera crew at the Master's Tournament. He enjoyed his annual visits to Augusta National where he had the opportunity to mingle with other golf aficionados and rub shoulders with the pros, often critiquing their swings. He donned his official green blazer proudly and enjoyed wearing it during the Master's Tournament each year when he was no longer making the jaunts to Augusta. He was always eager to share investment strategies, stock tips, and child-rearing advice with anyone who would listen. He enjoyed world travel (especially his African Safari), fine dining, and a good party, and had a fondness for practical jokes. Fred will be missed by family and friends and the many business associates and clients with whom he built relationships over the years. Funeral was private. A memorial/life celebration is TBD pending Covid. www.goldsteinsfuneral.com
