Obituary

Dr. Frank M. Stein, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on Father’s Day, June 21, 2026, surrounded by loving family. Born July 20, 1932 in Philadelphia to Harry and Mollie Stein, he spent his life embodying his values of compassion, dedication and service.

Dr. Stein dedicated 62 years of his life to the medical profession. Known for his steady hands, listening ear and humor, he treated generations of patients with unparalleled empathy and expertise. He was the Chair of the Family Practice Division of Frankford Hospital for 20 years and also served as President of the Medical Staff. To his colleagues, he was a mentor: to his patients, he was a trusted caretaker who always prioritized healing and humanity.

Yet, his proudest title was not “Doctor,” but “Dad” and “Grandfather.” He was devoted to his children and grandchildren. Keeping his family healthy and happy was his proudest achievement. Whether he was teaching life lessons, cheering on the sidelines, or sharing stories, his wisdom and warmth left an indelible mark on their lives. He taught them the values of hard work, the importance of helping others, and how to live a life of unwavering integrity.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Priscilla: his children Susan (David) Wolk, Lisa (Luke) Cabanel, and Jeffrey Stein; and his adoring grandchildren, Ali (Matthew) Tucker, Michael (Jenna) Wolk, Robert Raben; and great-grandchildren, Ava and Max Tucker. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Audrey, and sister, Diane Leopold.

He was a healer by trade, but a beloved, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend by nature, He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of his life will be held Friday, June 26 at 11:00AM precisely at Roosevelt Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 2701 Old Lincoln Highway, Trevose, PA 19053.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations made to the Audrey Stein Memorial Scholarship Funds at FELS (Federation Early Learning Services-FELSKIDS.org ) or a charity of your choice.
