Frank Charles Russo, 89, from Elkins Park, Pennsylvania passed away, peacefully in his sleep, with loved ones by his side on February 1st, 2023.
Frank, born on January 29, 1934 grew up in Norristown, Pennsylvania, joined the U.S. Air Force and was a flight engineer during the Korean War. He attended Philadelphia College of Art, LaSalle College and Aeronautical Institute.
Frank was the ultimate “do it yourselfer” and enjoyed remodeling kitchens and baths for clients after retiring from Civil Service after 31 years. After a few years of interior designing he returned to advocate with American Federation of Government Employees writing briefs, contracts and representing government workers. He also enjoyed theater, music, international travel as well as long road trips listening to audio books.
He became a certified golf teacher and coached blind golfers, children and adults of the Middle Atlantic Blind Golf Association.
Known as a private, soft spoken man who spoke with his golf clubs, there was nothing quiet or reserved about him when it came to politics or any professional golf tournament he could dissect play by play. Frank also was a fine artist and lined the walls of his home with paintings.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Hanna, of 41 years and their children, Karma (Scott) Hudson, Adam (Courtney) Russo, Liana Russo as well Frank and Betty Ann’s (former late wife) children, Patty (John) D’Annunzio, Kathy Robinson, Rachelle (Don) Fisher, Mark (Debbie) Russo, Lisa (Tim) Campbell, and by his late daughter, Marian Russo.
