Francine Marline (Rand) Zahal, 70, was released from the cruel hands of ALS-FTD on November 2. She is survived by her children, Stephanie (Dan) Rowcotsky and Matthew (Leah) Zahal; grandchildren, Lily, Asher, Zev and Shai; her twin sister Helene (Rand), brother David (Merrill), and sister Joyce (Kevin); a loving extended family; and an awesome group of friends. She is pre-deceased by her parents Pinkus and Linda and her brother Larry.
Francine was proudly born in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn in 1954, during Hurricane Hazel. She moved to Israel in 1976 after reading Golda Meir's autobiography and lived on Kibbutz Yod Mordechai, before settling in Philadelphia in 1981. She loved the beach, chicken cutlets, a late morning snooze, and her grandkids. She'd tell you to "fuhgettaboutit!"
Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services on Tuesday, November 5th, 1:30 PM at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Suburban North, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton PA 18966. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Shiva will be observed at the home of Stephanie & Dan Rowcotsky. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made by planting a tree in Israel via the JNF, as Francine did for so many of you.
