Frada Newman (nee Sitman), mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, passed away February 25th, surrounded by her family.
Frada loved learning, reading, telling stories, conversation, singing, cooking and reminiscing about South Philadelphia, but mostly she loved the fullness of her life and the love of her family, her deceased husband Presley Brown, and friends. She felt particularly fortunate to be such a significant part of the lives of her grandchildren as they were growing up and as adults. Frada said many times in her last weeks of life that she truly felt she was the luckiest person on earth – she knew she was deeply loved and she felt she had a full and wonderful life.
Frada is survived by her daughters, Beth Rezet and Penny Rezet, her sons-in-law, Gregg Fromell and Eric Feingold, her grandchildren, Maddie (Matt), Daniel, Nick and Zoe, her great-grandchildren, Charlie and Jack, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will sit shiva on Sunday, March 5th at the home of Penny Rezet and Eric Feingold from 1pm – 5pm. A memorial honoring her life will be announced at a future date.
For anyone who feels inclined, donations in her honor can be made to the Picasso Project at Children First www.childrenfirstpa.org
