Evelyn Wiener of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania passed away on May 8, 2014.

Evelyn was born to Leon and Sarah Wiener on January 12, 1952. She attended Philadelphia High School for Girls, along with her sister and several friends with whom she remained close her entire life. Evelyn attended Brandeis University before attending medical school and residency at Temple University.

Evelyn spent many years as a doctor for Student Health Services at the University of Pennsylvania, serving in her final years as the director. She was very involved in college health and was an active member for the American College Health Association.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Evelyn loved art. She was student at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and Fleischer Art Memorial. She took regular classes for many years and participated in several arts shows to much acclaim. Evelyn loved good food. She had many favorite restaurants around Philadelphia and was an aficionado of many exotic dishes before they became a craze. To this end she and her husband spent years developing cooking skills. Evelyn was an excellent cook and friends and family both looked forward to invitations to dinner at her house.

Evelyn was very beautiful and very smart and will be greatly missed be family, friends, and colleagues. She is survived by husband Ken Jacobs of Elkins Park, PA; children Alex and Molly of Fairfax, VA and Philadelphia; and sister Marcia Pelberg of Bala Cynwyd, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the American College Health Association.

The funeral will be held at 11 AM on Monday, May 12 at Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Raphael-Sacks, 6410 North Broad Street, Philadelphia.
