Evelyn Schechtman (nee Saver) passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026 at the wonderful age of 103 years and 4 months. Evelyn was predeceased by her loving husband, Herman D. Schechtman.

Evelyn was the beloved mother of Sandra (Herb) Kaufman and Fred (late Emma) Schechtman, loving grandmother of Ron (Jenifer) Kaufman, Scott (Amy) Kaufman, and Howie Schechtman and adoring great-grandmother of Madeline, Naomi and Bree Kaufman.

Evelyn’s greatest pleasure was spending time with her family. She would sit in the corner recliner squeezing every drop of love into her family. She had a great sense of humor and loved to hear about everyone’s accomplishments and happenings.

Evelyn was an avid reader, especially of historical fiction. She was extremely interested in politics and kept abreast of current events, which often elicited her comments and opinions.

She was ever aware of her surroundings, engaged in line-dancing into her 90’s and continued to drive until age 96. She was the star of her 100th birthday celebration, and was elated to see her great-granddaughters being Bat Mitzvah.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend graveside services at 11:00 am on Friday, September 18 at Roosevelt Memorial Park (Section B-10), 2701 Old Lincoln Highway, Trevose, Pennsylvania 19053. A shiva luncheon will be held following the interment at the home of Sandy and Herb Kaufman.
