Estelle Price

In Loving Memory of Estelle Price…

Estelle Price was born on June 13, 1939 in Philadelphia, the daughter of Ralph Ellenberg and Miriam Blanc. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, leaving behind a lifetime of kindness, laughter, and deep connection with those who were lucky enough to know her.

A devoted mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, her warmth touched everyone she met. She built her life around caring for others — both in her work as a psychologist and in the way she nurtured the people around her.

Estelle was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raphael, and her cherished daughter, Lisa. Her love of Jewish symbolism was expressed in her nurturing of a fig tree that she was gifted after a visit to Lisa’s grave and was told would never grow; sharing the bounty of which was a constant source of pride and joy.

She is survived by her son, Ben, and daughter-in-law, Yoshiko; sister, Naomi, and brother-in-law, Ted; niece, Raisa; nephew, Ari, his wife, Barrie, and their son, Asher. Family and friends meant the world to her; she loved spending time with them, sharing good stories and celebrating life together.

Estelle was a rigorous academic; she graduated high school with a mayoral scholarship to the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated in three and a half years summa cum laude. She also earned a Masters in English and a teaching certificate from Gratz Hebrew College simultaneously. A lifelong learner, she later completed a Masters in Psychology at Hahnemann Medical College. She is fondly remembered at the Philadelphia Behavior Association as long time enthusiastic member.

She will be remembered for her compassion, intelligence, and genuine care for others. An enthusiastic scrabble player who loved all sorts of games, she also was an avid reader, polyglot who spoke five languages, exuberant Israeli folk dancer, and passionate singer.

Estelle will be deeply missed and forever loved.
