Elinor Simons Smith, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024, at the age of 89. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unyielding devotion.

Born on September 6, 1934, in the heart of Philadelphia, Elinor was the cherished daughter of Isabelle and Harry Simons. She married the love of her life, Seymour Smith, beginning a journey of shared joys and treasured moments.

As a mother, Ellie was fiercely protective and loved raising her three daughters, Audrey, Judith, and Lisa. Her love knew no bounds, extending to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who held a very special place in her heart. Ellie cherished her weekly visits with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and attended all of their special events. 

In addition to her role as a devoted wife and mother, Elinor was a loyal sister and friend. She had a way of making everyone feel loved and valued, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched. Ellie was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, she knew how to toss a golden slipper, was enthusiastic about her bulletins, and spent endless afternoons at the casino / “work.”

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, 12noon, at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Trevose, PA., followed by a reception at Judith Elkins’s home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude, a cause that was dear to her heart.

Elinor Simons Smith will be remembered for her fierce love, warm embrace, and unwavering strength. Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, a testament to a life well-lived and deeply cherished.
