Elaine Rubin

Elaine Rubin, 86, of Warminster, PA, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023.  Elaine was born on April 8, 1937, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Along with her brother Jeffrey Gelman (z”l) whom she cherished, Elaine was the oldest of two children to Jules (z"l) and Edith Gelman (z"l).  Following the birth of her only child and best friend, Jodi Schlossberg, on April 5, 1958, Elaine married the love of her life, Martin Rubin (z”l), on September 3, 1985, and lovingly gained step-sons Alan and Larry Rubin (z”l). 

Some of her fondest times were spent working at her longtime Congregation Beth Shalom, where she resumed her Jewish studies and ultimately became a Bat Mitzvah.  Elaine and Martin spent many great years together at Cedarbrook Hill Apartments in Wyncote, Pennsylvania before fulfilling one of Martin’s dreams and moving to Palm Desert, California.  Elaine and Martin spent over a decade together in the Desert, while always making time to return home to Philadelphia to see family.  Elaine remained in Palm Desert until Martin’s passing in 2009 and returned to Philadelphia in 2011 to be closer to her immediate family, Jodi and Barry Schlossberg along with her grandchildren, Jordan and Mallory.  Elaine’s ultimate pride and joy were her great grandchildren, Zev, Noa, and Fiona. 

Elaine leaves behind her children Jodi and Barry Schlossberg, grandchildren Jordan and Elana Schlossberg and Mallory and Adam Flager, great grandchildren Zev Andrew and Noa Estelle Flager and Fiona Max Schlossberg, sister-in-law Barbara Gelman, niece Jaime Hontz and great niece and nephews Chase, Logan, Bree and Brady Hontz, nephew and niece Marc and Dara Gelman, great nephews Eli and Brody Gelman, and step-son Alan Rubin.

Family and Friends are invited to Graveside Services Monday, October 2, 10 AM precisely at Roosevelt Memorial Park (Section A), 2701 Old Lincoln Highway Trevose, PA 19053. Shiva will be held Monday-Wednesday with Services beginning at 7 PM at the Flager residence in Yardley, PA.
