Elaine Lewis

Elaine Lewis (Teich) passed away on December 4th, 2024, surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with ALS.

Elaine was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, preschool teacher, and friend. She was an endless well of kindness and compassion, and she raised her family in a home filled with warmth, creativity, and love.

Elaine was a champion of equality and abhorred discrimination. She proudly marched in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s and introduced a disability awareness program in her children’s elementary school that is still part of the curriculum over forty years later.

Elaine was a natural teacher who adored her young students and loved enriching their lives. But the roles she treasured most were mother and grandmother. She was incredibly supportive of her children and grandchildren, whether she was cheering them on at sporting events or watching school plays, and always encouraged them to follow their passions and chase their dreams.

As sweet as she was, Elaine also had tremendous grit. Her unbreakable will and unshakeable faith allowed her to weather a dreadful disease with dignity and grace.

Elaine will always be number one, loved to infinity and beyond, forever and a day, a million, trillion, gazillion to the moon and back, and so much more. May her memory be a blessing to all.

Elaine is survived by her daughter, Stacy Post, and son, Craig (Meghan). Her five grandchildren, Jonathan, Julia, Colin, Aiden, and Sophie. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Magdule.

Chapel Services will be held on December 6th, 2024, 9:30am, at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Funeral Directors, 310 Second Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966. A committal service will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park, 2701 Old Lincoln Highway, Trevose, PA 19053.

Contributions in her memory can be made to either ALS Hope Foundation or to ALS United Mid Atlantic Chapter, PO BOX 40777, Philadelphia, PA 19107 www.alshf.org
