Elaine Dyner

Elaine Dyner (Rudolph) passed away peacefully in her sleep at 6:30 am, March 19, 2024.  Elaine, affectionately known as “Eenie” was well into her 101st year.  Elaine is survived by her son, Howard, and daughter, Sheryl Blocklin (Bruce), niece (Charlene Woodin), and great and great-great nephews and nieces and cousins.    She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ben (Benjamin); mother (Fannie Rudolph); father (Herman Rudolph); sister (Harriet Woodin); and outlived most of her contemporary friends and family.   Elaine was a strong woman, who held family and friends close to her heart.  There was always room for one more at the table or kitchen (even in the tiny Horrocks St. rowhouse).  She was loyal, kind, highly intelligent, a great listener, and often unintentionally funny.  Elaine loved to be around family and friends, and never missed an event.  The shore was her happy place, especially when surrounded by the family.  She enjoyed sitting and chatting at night with her friends at Paul’s Run, Friday night services, and never, ever missed a bingo game, when she glowed over her small winnings.   Elaine worked as a bookkeeper and homemaker much of her life and gave back to the community through early volunteer efforts including B’nai Brith and the Edelson Cousins Club.  A remarkable knitter, Elaine made hundreds if not thousands of caps and booties for newborns and blankets for sick children.  All who knew Elaine knew her for her positive attitude and how good she made everyone around her feel.
