Elaine Cohen

Elaine Cohen passed away on August 24, 2025 at the age of 98. She is survived by her brother Dr. Donald Rosenberg (Jo Rosenberg); loving daughters Beth Cohen (Bruce Barris) and Susan Cohen Harris (Steven Harris); grandchildren David, Jonathan (Randi Edelman), Rachel, Rivka and Dori Yankelewitz, Sydney (Stephen Francis), Isabel and Spencer Harris; great grandchildren Adin and Ellie Yankelewitz and Sonny and Roy Francis, and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the wife of the late Isadore Cohen, twin sister of the late Marcelle Friedrich and mother of the late Russell Cohen. Elaine and her husband Izzy were strong supporters of their Jewish community as well as Israel. 

They were among the founding families of two synagogues - Temple Sinai in Cinnaminson, NJ, where Elaine helped in the library and later, the Marco Island Jewish Center. Elaine was active in the National Council of Jewish Women, Deborah and many other organizations in Florida. Elaine was a truly caring and genuinely warm person who was loved and adored by multiple generations and many friends for her kindness, strength and devotion to her family. She was resilient in the face of many losses and a role model of grace, elegance and dignity.

Relatives and friends are invited to funeral services on Wednesday August 27, 2025 at Crescent Memorial Park in Pennsauken NJ at 12:00pm preciesly.  Contributions in her memory may be made to the Masonic Village, 801 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill PA 19444.
