Eileen R. Sweeney

Eileen R. Sweeney (nee Fisher), 75, of Langhorne, PA, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025.

Born on May 23, 1950, in Philadelphia, PA, Eileen was the beloved daughter of the late Edward and Lenore Fisher (Kurtz). She grew up in the Plumridge section of Levittown and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School (now Truman HS) in the Class of 1968.

Eileen went on to earn her degree in health and physical education from Pennsylvania State University in 1972. She dedicated over 40 years of her life to teaching in the Bristol Township School District, where she also coached and mentored countless students, leaving a lasting impact on generations of learners and athletes.

A gifted swimmer in her youth, Eileen had a lifelong passion for movement and sports. In her teen years, she loved the vibrant local dance scene, dancing at area firehouses and even appearing on Channel 17 on the Ed Hurst show in Philadelphia. Later in life, she found joy on the golf course - proudly achieving two hole-in-ones just ten days apart, a testament to her skill and love for the game.

Eileen had an extraordinary gift for friendship and built strong, lasting bonds with many. But above all else, her favorite role in life was that of Meemom. She adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them.

Eileen is survived by her loving children: Jessica Waitkevich (Andy), Amanda Krzywulak (Andrew), Kelly Kurpeikis (Justin), and Brian Sweeney (Rachel); her sister Linda Zuino (Alan); her dear niece and nephew, Hara Zefran and Adam Lisausky; and her many beloved cousins. She was a devoted and joyful Meemom to Ella, Eddie, Alora, Archer, Olivia, Isabel, Leonard, William, Asher, and Isla.

She was previously married to Peter Langborgh and later to James Sweeney.

Eileen’s legacy of kindness, energy, laughter, and love will live on through her family, friends, colleagues, former students, and everyone who had the joy of knowing her.

Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Together We Dance Foundation at wedancetogether.net
