Edward F. Solomon, age 101, of Lower Merion Township, passed away on December 5, 2022. Beloved husband of Bernice (Bunny) of 80 years. Loving father of Lyn Segal (Alex Sarratt), Saul Solomon (Arlene Isaacson) and Sandy Kaplan (Mitch). Brother of Maxine Weinstein. Devoted grandfather of Carli Snyder, Brad Solomon, Stacy Berry, and Toni Caroto, and Great Grandfather of 9. He grew up in West Philadelphia and was the Student body president of West Philadelphia High in 1939. After graduating from Wharton School of Univ. of Pennsylvania, he served as a navigator in the Army Air Corp, serving in Europe during WWII and reaching the rank of 2nd Lt before his discharge in October 1945. He started the Pride Dog Food Company and was instrumental in the ground-breaking conversion of dog food from a frozen container into a can. Eddie and Bunny were avid travelers for over 50 years visiting 6 continents and dozens of countries.  Their greatest enjoyment was having their children and grandchildren traveling with them. He was active in the Gryphons (West Philly High fraternity) for 85 years and was the last living member. He was a member of Beth David Synagogue for over 65 years.  His wit, wisdom and kindness to all will be remembered by those who knew and loved him. Donations to the Parkinson Foundation are appreciated.
