EDWARD J., February 8, 2016. Beloved son and grandson of Mildred, Morris and Louis. Mr. Edward J. Kriwonos is a military veteran who worked for the U.S. Government and U.S. Army for 40 years. His diverse career took him to a NATO assignment in Orleans, France; to the DMZ in the Republic of Korea working jointly with U.S. forces and the ROK Army. He also served as Chief of Inspection during Lance Missile operations and was a member of an inter-national team working with Norwegian military personnel on HAWK missiles at a remote base north of the Arctic Circle. He trained Philippine forces in the southern part of the country in Mindanao where the Moro National Liberation Front insurgency was active. He was also an adviser on a munitions ship loaded with thousands of pounds of high explosives destined for military allies. In Surabaya, East Java, he provided training for an Indonesian Marine Corps commando unit and received a Plaque of Appreciation from the Commandant. Mr. Kriwonos was a senior Department of the Army representative who visit-ed more than 40 countries in Europe, Asia and South America where he was responsible for training and advising foreign military personnel in munitions, explosives, several missile systems, and various military armament. His work included a stint in the Pentagon where he was presented with the Depart-ment of the Army Achievement Medal from an Army General. He also received numerous awards and commendations from high ranking allied military personnel in overseas commands and was the recipient of a Certificate of Recognition for his service and signed by U.S. Secretary of Defense William Perry.
Brother of Helene Dickinson. Uncle of Justin Dickinson. Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services Sunday, 1 P.M. precisely, at the Roosevelt Memorial Park Mausoleum, 2701 Old Lincoln Highway, Trevose PA 19053. Burial will follow.
