Edward G. Billus, 80, of Philadelphia, passed away Nov. 26, 2020.
Born Nov. 6, 1940, in Maizeville, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Motel Billus.
He was a 1958 graduate of Gilberton High School and worked as a machinist for Philadelphia Inquirer until his retirement.
He was an avid golfer and was remembered by many friends in the Philadelphia area who might have remembered him from a 2004 ranking of the top 5 putters including Tiger Woods (1); Jack Nicklaus (2); Bobby Locke (3); Billy Casper (4) and Edward Billus (5).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (nee Wach); brothers, Joseph Billus and Richard Billus; son-in-law, George Phraner.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Phraner; granddaughter, Chelsey Phraner, of Philadelphia; a brother, Anthony Billus (Carol), of Frackville; brother-in-law, Ronald Wachl; sister-in-law, Lynn Wach (Tom); sister-in-law, Alice Chubb (Bob), of Ashland; nieces and nephews.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the immediate family gathered for a private visitation and funeral service at Rose Funeral Home. The Rev. Matthew Biedrzycki officiated. Interment followed in North Cedar Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia. A memorial will follow in Philadelphia at a later date.
