Dr. Richard Silberstein

Richard Silberstein of Penn Valley, Pennsylvania died on Sunday, September 1, 2024, after a long illness.  He was the beloved husband of Alice Silberstein (née Liftin), loving father of Hope Silberstein, devoted brother of Arlene Skolnick (the late Jerome), and friend to many. He grew up in Washington Heights in New York and went to Bronx Science High School. He graduated from City College and received his Ph.D. in sociology at City University of New York. A lover of good movies and fun, he was a wonderful cook, brilliant poker player and storyteller. He will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to funeral services on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Funeral Directors, 6410 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19126. Interment at Montefiore Cemetery, Jenkintown, PA. Shiva will be observed at the family’s home on Wednesday (from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.) and Thursday (from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M.).
