Dorothy (Dora) Roseman, born September 21, 1923 to the late Samuel and Ethel (Metz), beloved partner of 45 years to the late Sally Rothman, sister of the late Stanley Roseman. She is survived by her sister Audrey Weiner, nieces Ann Leight, Mia Aubrey, Shari Stewart, nephews Larry and Howard Roseman, numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews, dear friend, Ruth Kapustin-Maines and her dear caretakers, Diane Downey and Cynthia Perkins.

Dorothy was born and raised in Philadelphia and continued to live there for her whole life. She graduated from West Philadelphia High School. From 1944-1946 she served as a WAC in the Army Air Corps. She attended college under the GI Bill and graduated with her Bachelor’s degree from Penn State, and her Master’s Degree from Villanova. She continued graduate work at Temple and earned enough credits for two more Master’s degrees. She worked for 30 years in the Philadelphia School system, starting out as a remedial reading teacher, promoted to Vice Principal and lastly as a Principal of the Samuel Daroff School.

As a retiree, Dorothy served on the board of the retired teachers association and the (democratic) Elections board for 45 years. She volunteered at Pennysylvania Hospital until she was 93 years old. Dorothy enjoyed theatre ballet, opera, Phillies, Eagles, reading and crossword puzzles. She traveled extensively throughout the US and the world.

Relatives and friends are invited to graveside services on Wednesday September 4th, 2024 at 10:00 AM at King David Memorial Park. Contributions in her memory may be made to any animal rescue.
