November 10, 2018, 74 years old. Beloved husband of Kathie Beck Sachs; Devoted father of Carl B. Sachs; Loving brother to Richard A. Sachs.
Don was born in New Orleans on March 11, 1944, son of the late Eleanore (née Weiss) and Dr. Benjamin Sachs. He grew up in Hartford, CT, received a PhD in psychology from Purdue University, and worked as a marketing analyst for Merck, Inc. After retiring from Merck, he and Kathie enjoyed the good life by traveling throughout Europe, taking adult education classes, and attending cultural events. For many years, Kathie and Don enjoyed regular attendance of the Philadelphia Orchestra and Opera Philadelphia. Don had a deep appreciation for classical music -- especially Verdi and Mahler - and for contemporary Irish music. He was also a faithful fan of the Philadelphia Eagles (whether they won or lost!). Don's sweetness and sense of decency and honesty will be greatly missed by his loving and cherished family. Relatives and friends are invited to funeral services, Tues. 1 P.M. at Cong. Beth Or, 239 Welsh Road, Maple Glen, PA 19002. Burial will take place Wed. 1 PM at Agudas Achim Cem., Livingston Manor, NY.
