WALDMAN DON WOLFE Age 86, passed away on September 22, 2021. He was the husband of Roslyn (nee Gittelmacher) of Elkins Park, PA, and father of Jody and Peter Abrams, Howard and Lisa Waldman, Vicki and Kevin Gottlieb and Gary and Sloane Waldman. He was the beloved grandfather of Jason, Jordana, Matthew, Erik, Scott, Rachel, Leonard, Samantha, Carly, Sophie and Maggie and great- grandfather of Jaxson and Shep. He was also the brother of Gene and Etta Waldman and Ruth Waldman Schultz. His family was his life. Don was born on February 25, 1935, the son of Shep and Gertrude (Sigel) Waldman in Phila. He graduated from Central High School, a proud member of the class of 199. The friends that he made there were his friends for life. He went on to study at Penn State and later graduated from Temple University. Don worked with his father, brother and son in the heating oil business that was founded by his grandfather at the turn of the century. He was a principal of Waldman Oil, Stott Waldman and Duck Island Terminal, which were wholesalers and distributors of petroleum products. Don was a member of Congregation Adath Jeshurun sitting on the Board of Trustees for decades. He also endowed the Synagogue's Hebrew Arts Series and served as the President of the Jewish Community Centers of Phila. He was a longtime contributor to many Jewish causes as Israel was his special love. He participated in several notable missions to Israel and was active in the Abramson Center for Jewish Life, JCC Central Board and the Jewish Federation Board of Trustees. He was a member of 2029 Society, Circle of Partners, Tikkun Olam, Joshua Society and Philmont Country Club. Don was an incredible person who lit up the room when he walked in. His charisma was immeasurable, always had a smile on his face and an infectious laugh. Don had a zest for life and was a quintessential mensch. His marriage of 64 years to Ros was a true love story and admired by all. Don's love of family was endless, and his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed every moment with him. He was their hero and will be missed beyond words. Funeral Services will be held at Congregation Adath Jeshurun in Elkins Park on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. Proof of full vaccination and masks required. Reception Immediately following service. Interment and Shiva private.
