Diana Grace Erber, a devoted sister and loving family member, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026 after a battle with ovarian cancer for over 9 years. She was born on May 30, 1948, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Atlantic City remained an important part of her identity throughout her life.
A graduate of Atlantic City High School, Class of 1968, Diana created a meaningful career for herself as a dedicated nurses aide for 27 years caring for the elderly in nursing homes. After her career in healthcare, she began a new chapter working as a Time and Attendance Clerk in the Security Department at the Tropicana Casino. Diana rarely missed a day in her 25 years of dedicated work there. She had a supportive community of coworkers and as her health declined she had to retire in October, 2025.
Diana loved, loved Philadelphia sports and was a loyal fan of both the Phillies and the Eagles. Di liked to watch TV and game shows, and kept all the family up to date on sports stats, weather and the news. Friends and family appreciated the love she gave with her constant cards and gifts. When she wasn’t working she might have made a trip to the boardwalk to find a slot machine, and she was a very lucky person.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Leonard and Florence “Mimi” Erber (Wisnoff). She is survived by her siblings Julie (z”l Richard) Jaffe, Marilyn (Alan) Maurer, Alice (Rob Steinberg) Erber, and Sam (Heather Barclay) Erber; nieces and nephews Robert (Lindsey), Emily (Dan Shotz), and Kate Jaffe, Josh, Ben and Molly Maurer, and Talia (Tim Blaine) and Rachel (Danny Cohen) Steinberg and (z’l Jacob Steinberg) along with nine great nieces and nephews who she adored. She was predeceased by her life partner and dear friend of 50 years, Joe Danley.
Diana will be remembered for her dedication to her work, her care for others, and the lasting connections she maintained with family and friends. Her presence will be deeply missed.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Beth Kehillah Cemetery 6687 Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Township, NJ, where family and friends will gather to honor her life and memory.
