Diana Grace Erber, a remarkable woman known for her independence, dedication, and a sparkle of fun in everything she did, peacefully departed this life on March 22, 2026. Born on May 30, 1948, in the lively city of Atlantic City, NJ, Diana proudly carried the spirit of her hometown throughout her life—a place that clearly knew how to throw a party because, as she loved to remind everyone at her famous Memorial Day birthday get-togethers, “I’m a Memorial Day baby!”
A proud graduate of Atlantic City High School, class of 1968, Diana set out on a journey defined by hard work and heart. She devoted an incredible 27 years as a certified nursing aide, pouring compassion and commitment into caring for the elderly in several nursing homes, touching countless lives with her punctuality and personal warmth. When she wasn’t brightening days with her caregiving, she was mastering time and attendance as a clerk at the Tropicana Casino for 25 years—showcasing her multitasking skills long before it was trendy.
Diana was a Philly’s and Eagles fanatic, a sports fan who radiated her emotions on game day, and loved nothing more than sitting down to watch TV and game shows—though those who knew her well will chuckle and say she didn’t just watch game shows; she lived them, especially when gambling was involved! Her hobbies spoke volumes about her love for friendship and good times, and she never missed an opportunity to offer one of her famously warm and comforting hugs.
Family was central to Diana’s life. She was the cherished daughter of the late Leonard and Florence “Mimi” Erber (Wisnoff) and shared a special bond with her siblings who survive her: sisters Julie Jaffe (with her children Rob, Emily, and Kate), Marilyn and Allen Maurer (with their children Josh, Ben, and Molly), Alice Erber and Robert Steinberg (with their children Talia and Rachel), and her brother Sam Erber and Heather Barclay. While her beloved companion and best friend Joe Danley has sadly passed before her, the memories of their close friendship remain one of her proudest accomplishments and a heartfelt chapter in her story.
On March 25, 2026, friends and family will gather at Beth Kehillah Cemetery in Egg Harbor Township, NJ, for a graveside service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, to celebrate Diana's life, legacy, and the joy she brought to so many.
Diana Grace Erber was a woman who knew how to work hard, play hard, and love even harder. Though she’s no longer with us in person, her spirit—the hugs, the laughs, the unwavering Phila spirit—will be felt for years to come. Here’s to Diana: a Memorial Day baby, an ardent sports fan, a devoted caretaker, a gambler at heart, and a friend who always made time for you. We’ll miss you dearly, but we’re grateful for every moment shared. Rest peacefully, Diana.
