David Lawrence Skolnick, 77, passed away on September 13, 2024. He is mourned by his wife of 40 years, Marilee Morris, along with his family and a lifetime of greatly valued friends. Smart, funny, and keenly observant with unbounded curiosity, David leaves behind a path that will remain bright within us.
David was a proud member of the 224th graduating class of Central High School in Philadelphia. He touched countless lives through his many years of graduate-level teaching, community service, and role as partner with Peterson Skolnick & Dodge, a national communications consulting and creative services agency based in San Francisco. He was a gifted strategist and writer, spearheading wide-ranging internal and external communications campaigns for major corporations and clients in higher education, the arts, and the nonprofit world.
David’s family is profoundly grateful for the skill and compassionate oncological care he received at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. We also are immensely grateful to the patient-funded International Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia Foundation http://iwmf.com This foundation provides groundbreaking research leading to new treatments, resources, and support services to patients and families as they cope with the challenges of this rare lymphoma.
