In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Mother, Cynthia Spear

Today we say goodbye to the heart of our family.

Cynthia Spear (nee Rotenberg), age 92, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026. Born on April 19, 1933, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Cynthia was the beloved daughter of Maurice and Gussie (nee Shaller) Rotenberg.

She is survived by her four loving children: Mona Spear, (widow of the late Daniele Mossino); Rand Spear (Laura); Alan Spear (Nadeen); and Dean Spear (Ellen).

Cynthia was the proud and adoring grandmother of Brooke Hoffman (Ben), Carly Fuest (Brian), Paige Triglia (Ryan), Michael Spear (Remi), Jared Spear (deceased and beloved son of Rand and Laura), Samantha Spear, Jacob Spear, Zachary Spear (Janet), Alyssa Spear, Michele Mossino and a treasured great-grandmother to Harper, Mia, Rylan, Gavin, Reese, and Romi.                                                                                                         

She is also survived by her devoted sister Barbara Vetri, (widow of the late Sal Vetri), and Deborah Rotenberg, (widow of the late David Rotenberg). She was predeceased by her brother David Rotenberg, and her sister Phyllis Pine.

At 92 years old, Cynthia leaves behind a legacy built entirely on love. Family was the center of Cynthia's life. She will be remembered for her strength, warmth and unwavering devotion to her children, grandchildren and family. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured and the love she so freely gave. We will be forever grateful for her luminous light, her wisdom, and her unwavering loyalty to all those she held close to her heart. She is not gone. She is simply woven into everything that matters most.

Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral services Sunday, March 1, 2026, 12 noon at Goldstein's Rosenberg’s Funeral Directors, 6410 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19126. Interment Montefiore Cemetery.
