CLAIRE B. (nee Bee)
died on March 16, 2017 at age 94, just 3 weeks shy of her 95th birthday celebration. She was treasured wife of the Irwin B. Stup and the cherished mother of Merril Stup, Richard Stup (Donna Freyman) and Leslie Sokolow (Harry Kesselman). Claire was adored by her grand-children Jonathan Sokolow, Michele Stup, Ben Block, Sara Sokolow, Ira Stup and Abbie Jacobs. She was Double-Bubbie to Sofia Sokolow, the sister of Gerald and Harriet Bee and mother-in-law of Sharlene Kalender. Beloved by all, Claire had an especially profound influence on her grandchildren. She unfailingly committed herself to charity and community, serving as an example to friends and family alike. Together with Irwin, she was a founding member of the Oxford Circle Jewish Community Center and a Past President of it's Women's Council. She was a Past President of the Nettie Kostiner Chapter of Deborah Hospital. A lifelong supporter of the Jewish Theological Seminary, Claire served for many years as an Executive Officer of the Philadelphia Branch of the Women's League for Conservative Judaism. GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL SACKS, 6410 N. Broad St., on Sunday at 10:30 A.M. promptly. Interment will follow at Shalom Memorial Park, 25 Byberry Rd., Huntingdon Valley. Shiva on Sunday will take place at 195 Linden Dr., Elkins Park. Shiva will continue Monday at 1 P.M. (through Friday morning) at the Elkins Park House, 7900 Old York Rd., Elkins Park. Minyan held each evening, Sunday-Thursday, beginning at 7 P.M. May her memory forever be a blessing.
