Claire P. Schwartz

nee Prusan, age 99. Passed peacefully on July 4, 2023, recently of Blue Bell, PA, formerly a resident of Wyndmoor, PA for over 60 years. Daughter of the late Morris and Dora Prusan. Claire grew up in Kensington, where her parents owned a corner grocery store. She graduated from Kensington High School and worked in the office for Food Fair Markets before her marriage to Paul in 1947. She was married to Paul for over 59 years, until his passing in 2006. Paul co-owned Wyndmoor Supply Company, a neighborhood hardware store and was a World War II Marine and Iwo Jima survivor.  Claire and Paul had a wonderful relationship, travelling all over the world and had a very active social life with friends and family. They were founding members of Beth Tikvah- B'nai Jeshurun Synogogue in Erdenheim, PA. Claire was very active in the USO during World War II and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years.

Mother of Philip Schwartz (Beth Bressler), Betsy Silverman (partner Eric Peralta), late Kenneth Schwartz and the late Robin (Martin) Friedman. Sister of the late Rosalie (late Gerson) Zubkin and the late Joseph (late Sabina) Prusan.  Grandmother of Katie, Margo, John, Alexii, Sam, Matthew, Aaron, Julie and Jack, also survived by 8 great grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by multiple generations of relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services Wednesday July 19th at 11:30 AM precisely at Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Raphael Sacks Suburban North, 310 Second Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Contributions in her memory may be made to any Cancer Charity of your choice.
