Claire M. Crawford

CLAIRE M. CRAWFORD, 37, died in her sleep of natural causes on the morning of October 28, 2023. Beloved daughter of Elaine Simon and David Crawford; dear sister of Nora Crawford; Loving partner of Galia Godel. Claire was a graduate of Lansdowne Friends School (1998), Germantown Friends School (2004), and Vassar College (2008).  Claire will be remembered for their explosive laughter, as a holder of tiny objects and big emotions, and for their great and overwhelming love of the world and everything beautiful in it. They glowed when they saw flowers and dogs, they loved terrible movies and worse TV, and had a baffling fondness for mixing very incongruous cereals.  Claire was a rational creative – who excelled at knitting, drawing, poetry, but also data analysis (her college major having been computational linguistics).  Claire was a "yarn wrangler" for six years, through the pandemic, for the small company O-Wool. Most recently, she worked for Jewish Family Services organizing their data on past adoptions and was so excited to contribute to this non-profit.  They will be missed so, so much. Relatives and friends are invited to Graveside Services, Tuesday, 1 PM precisely at Friends South Western Burial Grounds, 236 Powell Ln., Upper Darby, PA 19082. Shiva will be observed Tuesday thru Thursday at the home of Elaine Simon and David Crawford. Shiva will continue Saturday evening, Sunday and Monday at her late residence. ALL SHIVAS will be held from 4 – 7 PM.
