CLAIRE (nee Cohen)
On July 18, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Norman; Loving mother of Susan Baliban Garell, Jeffrey (Dot) Baliban, Terri Spencer, Janice (Ray) Hallman and Seth (Deirdre) Baliban. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Claire and her late husband were active in Germantown Jewish center in their early years. Claire was later a member of Beth Shalom and Temple Beth Am as well. Claire was an avid reader and an exceptional artist, creating innumerable paintings, sculptures and sketches and was an active member of several local art centers. Claire and her late husband owned Cakemasters, a prominent kosher bakery originated by her parents Al and Esther Cohen.
Cakemasters operated for nearly 50 years having grown to seven stores in the Philadelphia area. Claire received a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from Beaver College. She was very much devoted to her family and spent much time in her later years with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed. Services and interment are Private. Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
