Cindi Beth Hersh, age 72, of Lansdale Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with non-small cell lung cancer. Born on February 26, 1954 in Paterson NJ to Jacob and Francis Kreitman, Cindi dedicated her life to the service of others and her family.
She graduated from Rutgers School of Pharmacy in 1978 and embarked on a distinguished 35-year career as a Hospital Pharmacist at Valley Hospital, Ridgewood NJ, Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown NJ and Bryn Mawr Hospital, Bryn Mawr PA. Cindi’s career in pharmacy was defined by academic rigor and a steadfast commitment to patient care. From the start of her professional education, she embraced the high standards required in her field, developing a disciplined work ethic that would characterize her years of service.
As a hospital pharmacist, Cindi excelled in high-acuity environments where precision and composure were paramount. She was frequently relied upon during critical, life-threatening events to prepare emergency medications with remarkable speed and accuracy. Her exceptional ability to perform complex clinical calculations under pressure earned her the deep respect of her colleagues and ensured the highest level of safety for those in her care.
Beyond her professional life, Cindi was the matriarch of our family. She was a loving wife to her husband Elliot and a devoted mother who taught her children the importance of empathy, hard work, and kindness. She fully supported Elliot through his DMD, MS and PhD training, and his career as a Professor of Oral Surgery and Pharmacology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. As a grandmother, she was a "fun grandma," known for doing art, clay, and reading books to her flock. She also encouraged the kids to cook all sorts of things with her.
Cindi was also an accomplished water color and oil painter and a master of creating ceramic pieces all by hand. She displayed these pieces at many different venues. She was just a natural and considered art as her 2nd career.
She is survived by her children, Ian, Jill and Aimee Hersh; her grandchildren, Logan Winston, Caiden, Callie and Quinn Hersh, and Leo and Jonah Covrigaru who brought immense joy to her later years; her sister Sharon (Leslie) Feigin and brother Brett (Beth) Kreitman. She was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Jack Kreitman.
A celebration of Cindi’s life will be held on April 28, 2026, at 11 AM at Kehilat Hanahar (the Little Shul on the River), in New Hope PA. Interment will follow the service at Mount Hope Cemetery, 94 S. Franklin Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530. Rabbi Janine Jankovitz will officiate.
The Hersh family invites you to join them for a luncheon and a time of fellowship following the service. We will gather at the home of Elliot and Cindi at 2:00 PM to share memories and honor a life well-lived. Cindi would want anyone interested to attend.
Shiva will be observed following interment on Tuesday, April 28, and will continue Wednesday, April 29, and Thursday, April 30 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., at the residence of Cindi and Elliot Hersh.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Cindi's memory to the American Lung Association, where much research still needs to be done to cure various forms of lung cancer and other respiratory diseases.
