Charlotte Abrams passed away on May 2, 2026. For 67 years, she was the loving wife of Jacob Abrams, who pre-deceased her in 2021. She is survived by her sons Stewart (Jacqueline) Abrams and Jonathan (Kathleen) Abrams and grandchildren Jordan, Matthew, Andrew, Dylan and Sarah.
Charlotte was born on July 1, 1932 in Philadelphia. She was raised principally by her mother Jean (nee Fox) Selector and her favorite uncle Louis Fox. She followed in her mother’s footsteps and, after obtaining a degree in Education from Penn State University, became a teacher in the Philadelphia school district.
Thereafter Charlotte met her husband of 67 years on a blind date. They remained in Philadelphia where she stopped teaching in favor of raising her family. She continued her love of education by participating in the Montgomery County program for homebound children where she would go to the homes of kids who could not get to school due to medical issues. She later obtained a Masters degree in Counseling from Temple University and worked as a substitute guidance counselor at Cedarbrook Junior High when another counselor was on leave.
Charlotte loved tennis, playing the piano (often singing along to the chagrin of her children!!) and spending time with her close friends, some of whom went back to her Penn State days or even prior to that time. She was always doing needlepoint including at Eagles games where if the team did something amazing and the fans were erupting she would look up casually and ask: “Did we do something good?”
Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family: hosting weekly breakfasts for Uncle Lou and having her sister-in-law Marion Linhard, her brother-in-law Al and her nephew Steve come to her home for the Jewish holidays. Al was always a willing guinea pig for a new recipe. She baked incredible chocolate chip cookies. No one ever left one of her events hungry.
A graveside service will be held for Charlotte on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 10:00am at King David Memorial Park, 3594 Bristol Road, Bensalem, Pa 19020.
