Charles Stewart

Charles “Chuck” Stewart passed away peacefully on July 20th, 2025, at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in June 1957 to Jack and Elmira Jeanne (Spratley) Stewart, Chuck was a proud graduate of Jenkintown High School, Class of 1975.

In September of 1990, Chuck married Susan (Weizer) Stewart. Together for 41 years and married for 34, Chuck and Susan shared a deep and enduring commitment to one another through the best and hardest of times. Their bond was rooted in love, loyalty, and mutual respect. Together they raised their daughter, Jennifer, and many beloved pets, building a home filled with warmth, humor, and heart.

Chuck served the community of Jenkintown with honor and distinction for 33 years as a dedicated police officer, eventually earning the rank of Sergeant. He was deeply respected by his colleagues and neighbors for his integrity, calm presence, and steadfast commitment to public service.

A passionate outdoorsman, Chuck found joy in hunting and fishing alongside his brothers, nephews, and lifelong best friend. He spent most of his summers and time off at Mt. Pocono Campground, where he made lifelong memories with family and friends. He especially cherished evenings around the campfire, listening contentedly as his friends played guitar and sang beneath the stars.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Susan, and their daughter, Jennifer. He also leaves behind his beloved siblings: Jack (Jane) Stewart, Marcy (Fred) Doheny, Betsy Stewart, Molly (Bill) McMaster, Andy (Connie) Stewart, Mandy (Susan) Stewart, and Betsy (Keith) Petrasic, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Jeanne Stewart, and his brothers, Scott and Tom Stewart.

Chuck will be remembered for his strength, quiet kindness, sharp wit, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. His legacy of service, laughter, and loyalty lives on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
