DR. CHARLES ABRAMS, O.D. passed away at the age of 92, on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Bernice (nee Osterneck), his daughter Celia, his son Dr. Jerome, his daughter-in-law Marianne and grandsons Jacob, Daniel and Nicholas. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Gertrude and brother, Albert. After graduating from South Phila. High School for Boys, he attended the Phila. College of Optometry. Following gradua-tion, he served as 1st Lieut. in the U.S. Army-Air Force during WWII. He began his practice in Lit Brothers Dept. Store where he stayed for 35 years. After Lit Brothers closed, he relocated his practice to Pearle Vision Center at the Gallery. He served as President of the Merchants Association. He was also Treasurer of the Phila. County Optometric Society. He was extrtemely devoted to his family and was respected and admired by his many friends and thousands of patients. Charlie was a very special man who was dearly loved and will be missed. Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Service Tues. 1 P.M. precisely GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL SACKS, 6410 N. Broad St. Int. Mt. Lebanon Cem. Shiva will be observed Tues. thru Thurs. at the residence of Celia Abrams Contributions to his memory may be made to Alzheimer's Disease Research, 22512 Gate-way Center Drive, PO Box 1950, Clarksburg, MD 20871-1950.
