Cecilia Gelenberg

Cecilia Gelenberg (Scannelli), 78, of Huntingdon Valley, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 29, 2024. Cecilia was born on January 15, 1946 to Dominick and Ida Scannelli in Philadelphia. Wife to Mark Gelenberg for 53 years, Mother to Scott Gelenberg (Patricia Gelenberg) and Dayna Gray (David Gray). Sister to Barbara Gelenberg and the best Nona to Evan, Kendall and Reagan. She was a dear and sassy friend to many and her generous spirit was felt by all. Cecilia was predeceased by her parents and two brothers Anthony & Dominic Scannelli. Cecilia loved music and dancing. She enjoyed her home in Huntingdon Valley for over 45 years and could often be found outside, any season, tinkering in the yard and garden. Spending summers by the pool was a favorite pastime with afternoons filled with swimming, sunning, playing backgammon with good food, good friends and lots of laughs.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday, March 8 at 10:45 at Goldsteins Funeral Home, 310 2nd Street Pike, Southampton. Services will begin at 11:30. Interment will follow to Sunset Memorial Park, 333 W County Line Road.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ruff Love Dog Rescue https://www.ruffloverescue.com/ , or Woody’s Place Senior German Shepherd Sanctuary https://www.wpsgss.org/ , or a charity of your choosing.
