Carol Shuhler, age 73, of North Wales, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly on October 4th, 2024. She was born on July 12, 1951 in Toms River, New Jersey to Jacob and Shirley Bartner.
Carol was a teacher with the Pennsbury School District. She began teaching in 1973 and spent 37 years as a special education teacher. Carol’s time teaching was focused on working with students who needed the most help. Her patience, kindness, and belief in kids’ abilities changed the lives of countless children. After her retirement from teaching, Carol spent her time traveling to places near and far with her closest friends.
Without a doubt Carol’s greatest joy was her son Jeffrey. She was known to refer to Jeff as “my boy” and proudly shared stories about him every chance she could. Carol was beyond thrilled to gain a daughter when Jeff married Jacqueline.
There are no words to capture what Carol meant to her family and friends and what they meant to her. Carol was selfless, giving, loving, and just the right amount of sarcastic. Everyone around her knew that a friendly face, sage advice, or adventure buddy was only a phone call away. She spent hours knitting masterpieces to pass on to her great niece and nephews and never failed to be there for those who needed her.
Carol is survived by her son Jeffrey Shuhler and his wife Jacqueline, her twin sister Sheryl Duffy, niece Katie Pavluchuk and her husband Jason, nephew Jonathan Duffy and his wife Julie, her sister-in-law Alice Bartner, and nephews Patrick Bartner and Matthew Bartner and his wife Viktorija, and her aunt Elayne Bartner. She was also a great aunt in more ways than one to Liliana and Jackson Pavluchuk and Jake and Jordan Duffy. Carol was preceded in death by her father Jacob, mother Shirley, and brother Paul.
A memorial service will be held at Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s at 310 2nd Street Pike in Southampton, Pennsylvania on Monday October 7th at 3:30 PM.
Following the service, the Fleishman’s will welcome all to their home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Four Diamonds to fight childhood cancer. https://www.fourdiamonds.org/
