Beverly Sher Polin, 97 of Willow Street, PA passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026

She was the daughter of Abraham Sher and Gertrude Black. Beverly graduated from Girls High School in Philadelphia in 1945 and went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education.

Beverly was a teacher in the Philadelphia public school system where she taught kindergarten and parent-teacher nursery. She loved children and was deeply devoted to her own children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Well into her 90’s she stayed informed about current events and was always prepared for thoughtful discussion.

Beverly was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Polin and her daughter, Amy Polin Leibowitz.

She is survived by her son David Polin, his wife Sonya Degenhardt, son-in-law Alan Leibowitz and his wife Rhonda, by her grandchildren Joshua Leibowitz, Adam Leibowitz, Jonathan DSigoly, Abigail Polin and Daniel Polin and by her three great grandchildren.

Contributions in her memory may be made to Hadassah, PBS or NPR, organizations reflecting her lifelong commitment to education, culture, and community.
