Obituary

Beth Anne Potpinko Starkman, 66, of New Jersey, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

Born on December 5, 1959, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Beth was the beloved daughter of the late Julia and Paul Potpinko Sr. She graduated from Pottsgrove High School in 1977 and went on to study fashion and marketing at Harcum College, and at Rutgers University. She built a career in the fashion and marketing industry and proudly owned her own boutique, Glitz N’ Glamour, from 2005 to 2009.

Beth married the love of her life, Moishe Starkman, in 1989, and together they shared 44 wonderful and loving years. They could often be found on the dance floor, enjoying their favorite 70s disco music.

Her proudest and most meaningful role in life was being a mother to her two children, Alexander Mitchell and Lilly Rose. From the very beginning, she poured everything she had into them, her love, her strength, her guidance, and her unwavering support. She was their safe place, their biggest cheerleader, and the one who showed them what unconditional love truly looks like.

After a life altering car accident in 2007, Beth showed incredible strength and resilience. In 2018, her husband and children, became her full time caregivers, a role they took on with deep love and devotion. Through every chapter, the bond between Beth and her children only grew stronger. They stood by her side through it all, just as she had always stood by theirs.

She shaped who they are today, teaching them kindness, compassion, strength, and how to find light even in the darkest moments. The love they shared was immeasurable and unbreakable, and will continue to live on in everything they do. Her children were not only her greatest pride and joy, they were her purpose, and she was theirs.

Beth had a deep love for fashion and a natural eye for style, always knowing where to find the hidden gems in clothing and jewelry. She loved to travel, especially to beautiful beaches and special destinations. She was an avid sports enthusiast, with a special admiration for Rod Brind’Amour, and she enjoyed attending live music and sporting events with those she loved.

She especially loved her weekly flea markets and the thrill of finding a great deal wherever she went. More than anything, Beth cherished time with her family and close friends. She had a way of lighting up any room with her presence, making everyone feel welcomed and important. She was known for her playful spirit, even rearranging dinner plans to make sure dessert came first. She had a love for chocolate, took pride in her Slovak and Jewish heritage, and found joy in tending to her garden, where her love for flowers will live on.

Beth was predeceased by her parents, Julia and Paul Potpinko Sr., her beloved brother, Paul Potpinko Jr., her Godmother, Anne Hamilton, her uncle, Robert Hamilton, and her mother in law, Arleen Salaman. She is survived by her devoted husband, Moishe Starkman.
