Bernice "Bunny" Averbach (nee Hoffman), 93, passed away on March 13, 2024. Born and raised in NE Philadelphia to parents Fanny and Benjamin Hoffman. Beloved wife of 63 years to the late Stanley Averbach. Survived by daughters Janet (Richard) Lieberman and Carol (Alan) Swinger. Proud and loving Grandmother of Matthew and Daniel Lieberman and Sydney and Madeline Swinger. Dear sister of Judy Borochaner and late Brother-in-law Norty.
Bunny retired from Bucks County Community College after 20 years as an Administrative Assistant in the Music Department. She enjoyed a close relationship with co-workers, faculty, and students. Bunny and Stan were founding members of Beth El Synagogue in Levittown for over 40 years and became active members of Shir Ami Synagogue in Newtown after their move to Ann's Choice in Warminster. The Averbach's were honored at Shir Ami as Mitzvah Makers of the Year for performing acts of kindness in the congregation and community. Bunny was a Life Member of Hadassah. She loved her volunteer work at Hahnemann Hospital, St. Mary Hospital, and The Library for the Blind. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.
Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 12 noon at King David Memorial Park, Section II, in Bensalem, PA. Following interment Shiva will be held at Ann's Choice, 30000 Ann's Choice Way, Warminster, PA 18974, in Keystone's multi-purpose room. Contributions in her memory may be made to Hadassah (
